Private Pilot PPL(H)

You can lay the foundations today for your dream of becoming a helicopter pilot. As the most acclaimed helicopter school in Austria we offer you a first class pilot training with our modern helicopter fleet which is maintained to the highest standards. Throughout your training you will be taught exclusively by first class experienced civil flight instructors, who have been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority. HUBI-FLY is Austrians first ATO (Approved Taining Organisation).

The training to become a private helicopter pilot requires 4 to 8 months, depending on which course was selected. It includes practical training of of a minimum of 40 helicopter flight hours and ground instructions in the following subjects:


Mimimum age
The student pilot must be at least 16 years old, before his first solo flight .
When issuing the license, the applicant for a PPL ( H) shall have to be at least 17 years old.

Medical requirements
For the issue of a PPL ( H ) the candidate must have a corresponding Medical Certificate ( Medical Certificate) to prove to the authority that he meets requirements Part - MED .
Before the first solo flight the flight student must be in possession of such a medical certificate .
Before the start of training the candidate is recommended a medical examination to verify the suitability for the intended license.

Class of medical certificate
Applicant for a PPL ( H) and owner of a PPL ( H) must at least have a valid medical certificate of Class 2 .

Course duration

The training for private helicopter pilots will take between 3 and 12 months. It is composed of 45 helicopter flight hours and the corresponding theoretical lessons together (total 100 hours) .
